PROJECT DETAILS

PROJECT NAME : Artvin Çoruh University Library
PROJECT LOCATION : Artvin, Turkey
PROJECT GROUP : SCHOOL
PRODUCT BRANDS USED : FİBROBETON®

The Artvin Çoruh University built their library in the city center. Its architecture attracts attention because it reflects the library’s function. The building has six floors and the plan looks like three books that were read, stacked on top of each other and left on a table. Glass surfaces and Fibrobeton® panels were used together to obtain that image. AA Design came up with this design for the library which covers 4.400 square meters of area and has a capacity of 606 seats. Six meter high concave panels embrace the floors and the form becomes visible. The building itself has a steel construction. We built the panels in such a way that they can be mechanically removed and then placed again. We developed a special anchorage system for this purpose.

“Six meter high concave panels embrace the floors and the form becomes visible.”

Fibrobeton® cladding panels were also placed on the terrace floor. These panels have an increased thickness and density to withstand the snow. Artvin is located at the northeast edge of our country and has a notably cold climate. Consequently, our concave panels in their natural color embrace three sides of the building, creating the desired effect.
