Conrad İstanbul Bosphorus was opened in 1992. It is on the city’s European side and has a full view of the sea because of it’s location on a hilltop. This massive building was to be renewed and we revived the horizontal parapets on the façade with our FİBROBETON® cladding.
We built wide joinery spaces and used horizontal elements so as to not block the view.
Solutions That Match Up With the Form
We did the building survey and the calculations to construct special moulds, so that we could precast the steel framed panels to dress the curves with different diameters. In the end, the panels matched perfectly with the building’s curved form.
The precast cladding elements and the joinery formed horizontal bands which is characteristic of the façade design.
Special attention was paid to the water insulation since this landmark building was renewed to be sustainable and to withstand all climatic conditions.
“Within the scope of the renovation project, curvilinear forms of different diameters calculated by our survey team were covered with our Fibrobeton® branded products for which we developed special molds.”
