The first session of the Leadership Philosophy: One-on-One Conversations series, titled “Leaders Who Create New Paths”, was organized by the Young Business People Association of Türkiye (TÜGİAD) and took place on March 18, 2025, at TÜGİAD Headquarters. Our Chairman of the Board, Dündar Yetişener, attended as a guest speaker, contributing to inspiring discussions on the transformative power of leadership.
Moderated by TÜGİAD Honorary Member Deniz Başıbüyük, the session featured TÜGİAD Vice Chairman of the Board Melih Sebastien Durmuş and TÜGİAD Honorary Member Dündar Yetişener, who shared valuable insights on how leadership should be shaped through innovative approaches and visionary perspectives.
Mr. Yetişener emphasized that leadership should not only be measured by success but also by the ability to transfer down experience and create a lasting impact. In his speech, he shared sections from his own career journey and emphasized that leadership is not only an individual competence but also a process of leaving a legacy. Referring especially to the importance of intergenerational knowledge sharing, Yetişener stated that young leaders should shape the future by taking inspiration from the experiences of the past.
‘A strong leadership is possible not only by managing the present, but also by creating a culture that will inspire future generations,’ he said, underlining the concept of sustainable leadership. Stating that real leaders are the ones who break the rules, break the moulds and open new paths, he said: ‘Leadership is to be able to produce solutions in times of crisis and to create new opportunities despite the circumstances. A true leader is not only the one who maintains the current order, but also the one who builds the future.’ He emphasised the importance of individual and social awareness.
